About Nationally Recognised Course

This is the highest qualification available in Australia and has been designed to give you all the skills and competency required to begin testing and tagging. This course has been completed by individuals, large corporations and hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses.

Units of Competency

By completing the Nationally Recognised Course you will receive a statement of attainment for UEESS00174 - Electrical Safety Testing of Electrical Cord Connected Equipment and Cord Assemblies Skill Set.

This Skill Set contains the following Units of Competency which you will complete as part of this course:

UEECD0007 - Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace

UEERL0003 - Conduct in-service safety testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies

About Short Course (Non-Accredited)

The Short Course meets the minimum requirements set by AS/NZS 3760 and still allows you to freely test and tag as you wish. Although it also involves learning the same information, it has some minor differences:

  • No OHS component
  • Issued with Certificate of Attendance

Course Detail

Our online course is a fully immersive and interactive experience. The training is accessed through our easy-to-use online learning platform, and it contains exactly the same information and resources as our face-to-face course. 

The theory and WHS aspect of training includes interactive videos, information and assessments (approx 3-4 hours in total), while the practical component will be
performed via a live video stream with our instructor in our virtual classroom (accessed by Zoom), which is 1 full day (8-9 hours expected).

Please note that the Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760:2022 changed in 2022, and our training course is now teaching the updated Standard.

How does the Online Test and Tag Course work? 

Our Online Test & Tag Course contains the same exact content as our face-to-face training. One of the differences is that the first part of the course is self-paced and will teach you theoretical knowledge, all achieved via videos, animations and reading material. Then, the main feature of this course is learning how to test and tag via our Virtual Classroom (zoom video conference). This is conducted by an experienced trainer, and all students are given help the entire way.

How is the Nationally Recognised course different to the Short course? 

Both the Nationally Recognised and Short Courses are delivered in a face-to-face training session over 1 day. However, the major difference between them is that the Nationally Recognised Course has an additional self-paced OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) online component and is thereby considered the highest qualification (ASQA approved). The course you decide on will largely depend on your particular needs, but most students will complete the Nationally Recognised one for various reasons.

How long does the course go for? 

The Online Test & Tag Course is more self-paced when compared to traditional classroom training, but we find that most of our students require approximately 6-7 hours to complete the course. The theory part (Work Health and Safety section) of the training is self-paced, and we find that most students allocate about 3-4 hours for this. The practical session is more structured as it is led by our instructor and will take around 8 hours.

In addition, they’re all very friendly and approachable and will make the training an enjoyable experience.
