What To Expect on Your Course Day
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect from the training day?
The morning session will predominately focus on the theory required to test and tag, while the afternoon focuses heavily on learning to actually test and tag with a portable appliance tester. All of our classes are kept to a maximum of 12 people so that everyone in the room can get individual time and support from our trainer. Upon completing the course, you should be completely comfortable at testing and tagging on your own.
How is the Nationally Recognised course different to the Short course?
Both the Nationally Recognised and Short Courses are delivered in a face-to-face training session over 1 day. However, the major difference between them is that the Nationally Recognised Course has an additional self-paced OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) online component and is thereby considered the highest qualification (ASQA approved). The course you decide on will largely depend on your particular needs, but the vast majority of students will complete the Nationally Recognised one for a variety of reasons.
How long does Course go for?
Our most popular Test and Tag course generally starts at 8:00 am and finishes at approximately 4:30 pm, with breaks for morning tea and lunch. If you’re planning on doing the Nationally Recognised course, it’ll consist of an additional self-paced WHS online component, which is to be completed in your own time before the course date. This typically takes around 3-4 hours to complete, depending on your existing knowledge.
Who will be the instructor on the day?
We have several trainers, all of which are test and tag industry professionals with many years of experience and are fully qualified. In addition, they’re all very friendly and approachable and will make the training an enjoyable experience. Whatever your reason for doing the course is, we guarantee our trainers will give you all the knowledge and skills required to successfully test and tag.
Can I choose my preferred training date and location for the Course?
Absolutely! You can easily select your preferred training date and location by visiting our website. Complete your booking online by simply choosing the date and location that suits you best. Alternatively, you can reach out to our friendly team on 1300 848 302 and they'll be more than happy to book a spot for you.
Do I need to bring anything for the training day?
To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, it's mandatory to have access to a PAT Tester for the hands-on training section. If you don't already have one, you can buy or borrow a PAT Tester from us via Appliance Testing Supplies. This way, you’ll get hands-on experience using the actual appliance tester you use in the real world.
What if I need technical support after the course?
You’ll have the peace of mind knowing that we'll be there when you need us, whether it's by phone, email or in person. Every single student taught by Test & Tag Training receives free lifetime technical support from our team of experts. Guaranteed. This could be anything from how to use a specific appliance tester or how to test and tag a particular electrical appliance. We want to ensure we're making people's jobs easier by offering dependable service and expert advice when you need it most.
