Frequently Asked Questions
What does a typical training day look like?
The morning session will predominately focus on the theory required to test and tag, while the afternoon focuses heavily on learning to actually test and tag with a portable appliance tester. All of our classes in South Australia are kept to a maximum of 12 people so that everyone in the room can get individual time and support from our trainer. Upon completing the course, you should be completely comfortable at testing and tagging on your own.
How is the Nationally Recognised course different to the Short course?
Both the Nationally Recognised and Short Courses are delivered in a face-to-face training session over 1 day. However, the major difference between them is that the Nationally Recognised Course has an additional self-paced OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) online component and is thereby considered the highest qualification (ASQA approved). The course you decide on will largely depend on your particular needs, but the vast majority of students will complete the Nationally Recognised one for a variety of reasons.
Where in South Australia are courses held?
Our Test & Tag Courses in SA are available at two locations. One is held from our Regency Park venue, located at the Construction Industry Training Centre (CITC), just a 5-minute drive from Adelaide CBD. We also offer training in South Adelaide at the Woodcroft Morphett Vale Neighbourhood Centre for added convenience. If you have a group needing training, we can provide onsite training anywhere in Adelaide and come to you.
What certification will I receive at the end?
Upon successfully completing our Test & Tag Course, you'll receive a fully verifiable digital certificate. It’s secure, tamper-proof, and can be added to your digital wallet for easy access.Your digital ID will be sent via email, so there's no need to wait for it to arrive in the mail. From there, you can access, download, and share your certificate anytime.
Will you be working onsite? Just open your digital wallet and let your employer or client scan your QR code for instant proof of your qualification.
How long does the course go for?
Courses from Regency Park generally start at 8:00 am and finishes at approximately 4:30 pm, with breaks for morning tea and lunch. If you’re planning on doing the Nationally Recognised course, it’ll consist of an additional self-paced WHS online component, which is to be completed in your own time before the course date. This typically takes around 3-4 hours to complete, depending on your existing knowledge.
What if I need technical support after the course?
You're never on your own with Test & Tag Training. Every student receives free lifetime technical support from our team of experts, guaranteed. We don't just say we offer support, we prove it every day. With more resources and a larger support network than most, you'll always have someone providing real, hands-on advice.

Our goal is to make your job easier with dependable service and expert advice, whether it's by phone, email, or even in person. When you choose Test & Tag Training, you’re choosing unmatched support you can count on for the long haul.
Do I need to bring anything for the training day?
To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, it's mandatory to have access to a PAT Tester for the hands-on training section. If you don't already have one, you can buy or borrow a PAT Tester from us via Appliance Testing Supplies. This way, you’ll get hands-on experience using the actual appliance tester you use in the real world.
