Tag Colour Changes for December
For industries construction, demolition, mining, and marine, the test tag colours officially change to red this December. This seasonal colour change will run until February, marking the start of summer and hopefully the start of fewer rainy days and more BBQ-worthy days!
Main points to remember:
- Red tags indicate summer testing intervals, which is essential for staying compliant in harsh environments.
- All employees involved in testing and tagging must be aware of the updated requirements.
Download our brand new Test & Tag Colour Cheat Sheet for an easy reference and reminder for all upcoming colour changes. Plus, check out of our blog on test and tag intervals for more information about testing frequencies.
Recalled Item Alerts
We noticed some critical recall notices during November, with ACCC issuing recalls for a wide range of electrical items that you might notice when you’re out testing and tagging. Make sure if you come across any of these that you’re taking them out of service and letting the employer know.
- BoostCharge Pro Wireless Charger – the lithium-ion cell may overheat
- Airatherm gas outdoor radiant heater – this was sold by companies such as Reece, Tradelink and Awest. Doesn’t meet
- Magnet power bank – sold nationally and internationally. The battery pack can potentially overheat and catch fire
- Mi Phone Universal Travel Adaptor – this was sod at Chemist Warehouse and doesn’t comply with Australian Standards (doesn’t provide protective earthing connection)
For a full list of recalled items, check out the ACCC product recalls page.
